Our Story
Serenity Counseling Group was founded in 2018 by Dr. Amanda Lee-Degner while she and her husband were stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The name Serenity reflects the heart of our work: learning to release the struggles and circumstances we cannot change, while focusing our energy on the areas where growth, healing, and meaningful change are possible.
At Serenity Counseling Group, we are proud to have a team of knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate therapists who are dedicated to supporting clients through life’s challenges. Many of our therapists are military spouses, giving our practice a unique understanding of military life, transitions, resilience, and the importance of community.
Since our founding, Serenity has been fortunate to grow beyond Kentucky and expand into Georgia following retirement. Today, we continue to provide telehealth services in Kentucky and Florida, while also offering both in-person and telehealth counseling services in Georgia.
Although we serve clients across multiple states, Serenity Counseling Group is different from large online therapy platforms. We are independently owned and led by a therapist with personal and professional ties to Kentucky, Florida, and Georgia. Our goal is to offer high-quality, compassionate care that feels personal, connected, and grounded in the communities we serve.
